Connection Church began with the same heartbeat that pulsates within us still today - to become a community of people and God that would reach out to those who thought church was too boring, intimidating, or irrelevant to their lives. The idea was to literally go after "those people" who often feel shunned by churches for their imperfections instead of loved on for who they are and might become. Through missional living, innovative ministry, and a transforming faith in God, we aim to BE the Church and please the heart of the Lord Jesus Christ through authentic connections.

In July of 2002, this vision was pioneered by founders Daron and Kerry Garmon. After moving to the area and forming a launch team of twelve adults, the Garmons utilized a network of churches, friends, and various denominational support to begin an innovative communication campaign. Door hangers were hung, prayers were prayed, and a mass mailing went into 24,000 homes. Finally, a very crowded first official service took place March 30, 2003.

From day one, though, this has never been about building the best show in town. Instead, Connection Church has strived to be an environment that helps all people experience a fresh side of God and His Church. This has continued on even after the Garmon's chapter with Connection Church ended in late 2006 and we began our next leg of the journey... Chapter TWO.
