"For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." (Romans 11:36)

It's beyond our comprehension to understand how the universe works. What we can grasp, though, is that the One who set it into motion is somehow connected to everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen. Like a watch randomly found in the Sdesert shows evidence of a designer, so do our lives and all of creation reveal God's fingerprints.

What is most astounding about God's Story, though, is that He created us - a most intimate act on His part. He who was complete in a Triune relationship with Himself stooped down and breathed into a pile of dust He'd formed so that the first man's inhale would come from His exhale. As icing on the cake, He created us to be able to communicate with Him - to know His love for us in a personal way and respond back.

Though the darkness often closes in, God is still on the throne and working all backward things we initiate toward His forward restoration of the world. For us to join in on this we need to recognize Who comes first in life - Him or us. This is best asked whenever we accomplish great things or taste success and have to come to terms with the realization of where our skills came from. God had been on the scene for a long, long time and is the source of any vision, gifting, opportunity, creativity, energy, and breath we might exert. At all times and in all places, God is unfolding His story. Are you paying attention?
