Teens matter to us big time. This is one reason why Connection Church is taking a different approach than just having a "youth group" and being done with it.

By this we mean that it's our desire to help the emerging generation do more than become squeaky clean kids who become "good citizens" and "nice church folk." Rather, we believe God's vision for students is much bigger and more significant than that... which is why something intentional and fresh is needed to make a real difference.

We believe this generation is worth the time and attention of the whole Church. We're dedicated to students and will invest into them in ways that create a lasting faith in Jesus.

"Discipleship requires a huge investment of time. Most of us don't have the time. Or we chose not to take the time. Or our current models of ministry don't allow us the time... my hunch is that if we want to see young people have a faith that lasts, then we have to completely change the way we do youth ministry in America. I wonder if any of us has the courage to try."

- Youth ministry guru Mike Yaconelli

We dare and equip parents to live out their faith in front of their kids. Aside from prayer, this is the best thing any of us can do if we want to help young people become genuine Christ-followers. Many families undermine this by living inconsistently, so our hope is to invest into them as well.
We invite teens to actively participate in Sunday morning gatherings and ministry teams . This is so they can feel a part of the Church and have the momentum to stay connected with it after they graduate.
We gather weekly to help students, parents, and mentors connect with each other and God. This means a combination of teaching and listening in order to combine biblical insights with what is happening inside of a student's heart, mind, body, soul, and relationships.

This summer we're excited to partner with a few other churches
in town and create a cooperative youth ministry together.
Sunday nights from 6:30pm-8pm will be a great time for students
to interact with each other, caring adult leaders, and the Word of God...
it's a night full of laughter and learning where questions
are welcome and lasting connections are made.

In addition, we're providing a prayer time during the night for parents
to hang out and encourage one another. We're talking solid
friendships, new experiences, fun stuff, and deep stuff - all to grow
into a deeper connecton with God. You're invited!

Relationships (even when they're complicated) are where real life change happens best. Because we genuinely love kids and desire to help them discover a significant relationship with Jesus Christ, we're committed to the effort.

Of course, we'll have fun together as we do...
from special trips to crazy things we do around town.
Our end goal, though, is always about helping students
know, live, share, and own their faith in Jesus Christ.

Here are some tools to equip you for such a "Teen Connection"

Any God-sized dream must begin with God. Our lead pastor and his good friends at Christian Endeavor developed a way to pursue this called "Pray21" - use these materials to begin a relationship with a student that over the course of 21 days will change you, him/her, and the future of the Church!

The Healing Miracles of Jesus

Another resource that is out there for teens is "The Miracles of Jesus," a 30-Day devotional for students written by our lead pastor Tony Myles and published by SonLife/Youthfront. By exploring the amazing miracles of Jesus, teens can discover how He wants to transform their lives! Through prayer, reading, response, insight, and reflection, this book leads students through oustanding miracles in the Gospels in practical ways. Click here if interested.
