Each of us is unique, with a slightly different God-given "heartbeat" that races when we encounter activities, subjects, or circumstances that interest us. The Bible uses the term 'heart" to represent the center of your motivation, desires, interests, and inclinations. Your heart determines why you say the things you do (Matt. 12:34), why you feel the way you do (Ps. 34:7), and why you act the way you do (Pr. 4:23).

Another word for heart is passion - a concept we're aware of when certain subjects that you feel passionate about are discussed and why you start yawning about others that you couldn't care less about.

What if all of that could provide insight to the purpose God has for your life? Are some of those interests a very important key to understanding His intentions for your life. Don't ignore your natural interest - life, ministry, and work are not meant to be boring and stifling.

One great example of this is when the Apostle Paul writes to a younger guy named Timothy, encouraging him to “fan into the flame” the gift of God. He is telling Timothy not to let the flames of passion dim by remembering what set him ablaze spiritually to begin with.

What about you? What are you passionate about? And what got you passionate about it to begin with?

What is that thing that when it comes to your attention it ignites inside of you with tears or with anger. And on the flipside, what gets your feathers ruffled?

Imagine if it's not about God calling you to the things that you are passionate about... what if He makes you passionate about the things that you are called to?

Henri Frederic Amiel said, “Without passion man is a mere latent force and possibility, like the flint which awaits the shock of the iron before it can give forth its spark.”

What is your reason for not living out your passion?

We urge you to give God your heart completely, leaving just an empty place … and then see what He fills it with and let that fire becoming consuming and contagious!

"Delight yourself in the Lord
and He will give you
the desires of your heart.”
- Psalm 37:4

"Love the Lord your God
with all your heart..."
- Mark 12:30a

"Whatever you do, work at
it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord,
not for men."
- Colossians 3:23

“God has put it into their
hearts to accomplish
His purpose...“
- Revelation 17:17
