After Jesus rose from the dead, He did something else miraculous... He handed off His perfect ministry and message to imperfect people. As God, He knew we'd mess it up and get distracted - yet He has a rather awesome faith in us to run with it. Fueled by this, the first Christians formed a new community that was radically devoted to Him, each other, and a world in need of hope... and thousands were saved daily.

Whenever the church throughout history has had its greatest impact, it's resembled these people who shared their stuff, met together regularly, and prayed that the world would change, starting first in them.
