Remember the Buddy System when you were a kid? If you wanted swim in a lake there was this really good idea that you needed to stay with a buddy the entire time you were in the water. If you lost your buddy, you told the lifeguard so he could blow the whistle, clear the beach, and launch a massive search and rescue until until your buddy was found.

The Buddy System was a great way to make sure that no one slipped under unnoticed. After all, swimming on your own in tough waters is dangerous... but together we could watch out for one another and maxmize the joy.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a Buddy System for life?

That's House Church - a buddy system for living our our faith.

The big picture?

We take the stuff from Sunday morning gatherings a step further and talk about its application for our lives.

Each House Church is unique, but all of these medium-sized "communities within the community" center on connecting with others and growing into the people God dreams of through these practical Acts 2:42-47 values.:

Authentic community. Eating together. Holy awe of God.
Integrating God’s teaching. Praying beyond ourselves. Sacrificial sharing.
Extending out. Supporting the Church.

The idea is simple.
House Church gives us a chance to swap stories as we do life together and grow into what it means to follow Jesus Christ.  We laugh, eat tasty food,
throw out questions, share ideas, and search for new ways to live out what it means to be
the people of God in this day and age.

Sure, all of this is optional...
you can hold off and stay "anonymous"
in Connection Church if you wish.

But we've found the people who really soar spiritually are those who choose to get connected. So consider jumping in... whether you choose a House Church that's into games, Bible study, movies, bowling, and so on.

When and where do House Churches meet?
House Churches will typically meet during a window
of time when LIFE Groups are taking a break
(i.e. the summer or other seasons of the year
when things feel more "relational" in nature).

They're not limited to a certain night, but many folks like the weekends. Each meets under the leadership of a facilitator/leader at a home that's been provided for (whether by that leader or another). Locations vary by group availability... pop in where you'd like.

Why should I be a part of a House Church?
God created us for community, and yet often we try to figure out life alone. Connecting with others won't happen without some intentional effort on each of our parts, though, and so have structured House Church to be a tool and way for you to make friends while growing in your faith (and having fun doing it).

What about childcare?
We leave it up to each family to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or to swap childcare with another family whose group meets on a different evening or time. Another idea is to have a babysitter at the host home that all the parents chip in on. Some House Churches enjoy bringing up the kids for different parts of the night, be it music or something fun for all ages.

What will we do in a House Church?
The bottom line is you will form relationships that help you springboard forward spiritually and socially. Some House Churches may opt for more of a direct Bible study, while others will simply grow together by talking about the message of the Sunday morning beforehand and how they can integrate its truths into their lives. Either way you can hang out and have fun getting to know one another and our great God.

Whether you're new or have been around Connection Church a while, a HOUSE CHURCH can help you become more relationally connected and grow you from spectator to participant.
